Two rings

We promised to love and to hold
Carry the symbol of eternity with the hands we handle
Tenderly the love we have for each other.
In front of many, we promised,
Witnessed our sceptics who said, we were going
To break apart,
Through hardship we triumphed
Survivored the bitterness love carries within;
In front of the priest we pledged, in sickness and in health
For richer for poor, we will still be

We needed not anything to hold us in wait
Not even fear drumming in our hearts, to disturb
The harmony we found in each other
We were like butterflies free from the cocoon to fly about
In the world anew with promises
Ignited with a candle of love within each other
And not be blind to love but walk in the light of its steps
Happiness full with warmth,

Full with love and joy; for we were two rings that became one.
