Shattered Glass

Love was a fragile embrace, lips kissed goodbye
We were butterflies flapping
Into twilight consumed by the darkness eyes were blind
Stolen from our hearts
Lies were thieves’, those innocent little white lies
We never spoke our pain
Grew ‘till belly was full

Disappointments were enough, happiness was a distant memory
Playing like a broken record
Shriek of a shattering glass
Screaming arguments of a tired heart
With regrets how carelessly it gave all its treasure

Poignant sentiments to a heartless void
Whispering eerie sounds of a dead love melting to dust
Lovers crying with deep sigh
Everytime they reminisce
Feelings once shared,

It was there on table, a vase sparkling with diamonds
We drank celebrating our love
Everyday we were together
Moments we shared, panic on the afternoon
A dinner in the evening

 We dance the night
Were only given until midnight
Our magic spell disappeared, run away like Cinderella
The glass shoe slipped off
Fell and shattered on the ground,
Our bitter hearts
